TYPE OF MESOTHELIOMA

Types of Mesothelioma include Pleural mesothelioma, Peritoneal mesothelioma and Pericardial mesothelioma. Mesothelioma cancer affects the mesothelial tissue lining in the body's three largest cavities; the pleura (lung cavity), the peritoneum (abdominal cavity) along with the pericardium (heart sac). A type of malignant mesothelioma is based on the section with the mesothelium which it affects.

Pleural Mesothelioma.

This type forms in the lining of the lungs, and its increased incidence has allowed more studies to improve treatment methods and survival rates.

Peritoneal Mesothelioma.

Developing in the lining from the abdominal cavity, Peritoneal mesothelioma responds best to a combination of surgery and heated chemotherapy.

Pericardial mesothelioma.

Emerging through the lining of the heart, Pericardial mesothelioma is among the most challenging to treat because from the proximity from the tumors towards the heart.
